Our week in Christchurch Positive: Had most things you need. Well appointed kitchen. Two bedrooms. Lounge, dining table, washing machine, dryer, and parking facilities. Was close enough to the city you can walk in if you want to - 2 klm - we did. Negative: We stayed here for a week. Initially we thought we were experiencing earthquake tremors in Christchurch. Enough for us to google whether that was possible. We soon realised that when a truck or bus passed by the whole building shook and we were not experiencing a potential quake. The road was quite noisy as the townhouse is on a very busy main road in Christchurch. We also found the town house heating not adequate.

bad and regretful Positive: Water pressure was good Negative: Constant vibration throughout the house whenever vehicles passed by, both day and night. The property is very close to the main road, making it quite noisy at night. One bedroom’s blinds could barely block the bright street light coming through the window. There was also a strong, unpleasant disinfectant smell when we checked in and first entered the house.

VERY DISAPPOINTED and tired! Positive: Bathrooms were clean, handy to have laundry machine Negative: Constant traffic noise from four lane roadway 20 metres from the house. When a large vehicle runs past the house shakes! The first night as I was lying in bed with my legs jumping I thought maybe it was earth tremors! Very uncomfortable, sofa was stained and dirty, dining room chairs were plastic wicker, nasty. There is a small seating area in front facing the road but noisy , loud and no chairs. The kitchen has nice appliances but pretty minimal supplies. All the forks had bent times. The oven and pans were dirty. Pots and pans were all old, worn nonstick coated, we didn’t cook.

Positive: Good room Negative: No lock on main door from inside. If someone else knows the code they can get in while we are staying there. No curtains over a couple of the doors so sunlight cannot be blocked.
