Very disappointing and unprofessional experience Positive: Very disappointing and unprofessional experience We booked this accommodation in Christchurch for three nights because of its convenient, walkable location. However, upon arrival and following the check-in instructions provided by the host, Lexia, we discovered that another group of guests was already staying in the property. It turned out the host had sent our check-in details to them by mistake, and they were actually meant to stay in a different apartment two blocks away. As a result, both parties were forced to swap accommodations. We repeatedly asked Lexia to come and help resolve the situation in person or at least assist us with the move, but she said she could not. She eventually arranged an Uber, but there was no follow-up afterward to check whether we had settled in. I tried multiple times to contact Lexia by phone, left a voicemail requesting to speak with her, but received no call back. On the second day, she only sent a very generic message via Booking.com wishing us an enjoyable stay — no apology, no acknowledgment of the inconvenience. This lack of accountability and communication was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. The replacement apartment was farther from the city centre, which meant we had to rely on Uber transport, whereas the original property was chosen specifically for its walkable location. Additionally, the hot water system was very poor. The listing stated it was electric, but in reality, showers were limited to around 7–10 minutes of hot water. For a family of four, this is completely impractical. On the first night, my son was unable to get hot water to shower, which was very upsetting. We have stayed at many Airbnb and short-term rentals before and have never experienced anything like this. Overall, this stay fell far below expectations due to poor management, lack of communication, and inadequate facilities. Negative: unprofessional experience
